Baby Nixon

We celebrated the arrival of our sweet nephew and cousin, Nixon Jude McCaulla on June 26th, 2009. He is such a sweet addition to our family.

4th of July

We had very fun 4th of July this year. We did lots of celebrating with neighbors and friends. We did fireworks with the neighbors the entire week before the 4th. On the 4th of July, we went to the Edmond Parade and then participated in the annual neighborhood bicycle parade. Our bike decor wasn't quite as cool last year. That's because mom did the decorating this year instead of dad. That's so shameful!!

Trip to Turner Falls

We took a little day trip to Turner Falls. The boys had a blast. They loved playing in the water. I was thankful that it was nice and cool and "clear". It was a fun day for all!

Trip to Grandma and Grandpa Hudsons House

My grandparents have the most amazing garden and I'm so thankful that I was able to get some pictures of it this year. Very few people have a green thumb and the ability to grow a garden like this. Actually, I think it's a dying art and a garden like this is hard to find now days. For many years, they have been growing the most amazing garden vegetables. Noah was on a visit to TX during our visit to Grandparents house, so that's why Noah isn't in any of the pics. I also photographed Reid and cousin Karson in one of my grandpa's old vintage pick-up trucks. It was a fun day and these photos are priceless!

Big Wheel Rally

Noah completed his first year of Preschool at Warm World. He will be moving on from being a Caterpiller to being a "Monarch" Butterfly next year. At the end of the year, the school hosted a Big Wheel Rally. All the kids got to bring their big wheel and ride around a track. Of course, Noah thought it was a race and was asked to slow down several times. Can you imagine that? He acted like he owned the course. Hard to believe I know!!

M&M Olympics

Noah took a stab at gymnastics this year and he was a superstar. This talent runs deep within his blood. He's a chip off the old block! Flips and Handstands come easy for him and mommy is not "the block"! At the end of the year, they had a special performance called M&M Olympics. He got to show off all of his new moves. It was awesome. Rod and I were so proud of our little olympian.

Easter Egg Hunt

We had an "informal" Easter Egg hunt at my parent's house the Saturday before Easter. I say "informal" so that everyone knows that this was not my boys Easter outfits. Who else would care to point that out except for me? :) It's all about the outfit, right? They actually did wear something nice on Easter Sunday, but I don't think we got any pictures that day. Shame on me! I've come to realize that with 3 boys in the house, I'm going to be the only one who really cares about what I wear for Easter. It's just not going to happen...No pastel dress for mom, matching tie for dad, and matching shirts for the boys. Ugh..I'm not a foo foo girl anyway..the Lord knew that it was probably best that I have 2 boys! ;)

Little boy big hose

Reid had some fun with the waterhose. I'm guessing that the temperature was probably around 75 degrees. Notice that he's wearing a long sleeved shirt and boots..there was probably a reason for that. It was all fun and games until he sprayed himself in the face. Poor J-Bird..isn't that the saddest face?

Muddy Waters

Mom had to have a little knee surgery, so super dad stepped up the plate once again. He let the boys go wild in the mud in the backyard. They had a blast. Isn't that a little boys dream?

The Soccer Star

Noah has been playing soccer this season at Crossings Church. He was super excited to play until the first game rolled around, then he wasn't so sure. It was his first experience with organized sports and he was a little nervous. On the morning of his first game, he insisted that he was NOT going to play and that he just wanted to sit on the bench. Low and behold once we got him on the field..he scored the first goal for the team. That was all it took. Now he's excited for every game.

Bat vs. Reid

Poor Reid was accidentally hit in the nose with a metal bat by his ever so devastated big brother. It was awful! We were really afraid that his little nose was broken. We took him to the Dr. and had him X-Ray it. He didn't see any breaks..thank the Lord. It was pretty traumatic for all of us. Noah was so sad about it. The ladies at the Dr's office said they felt worse for me and Noah than they did for Reid. We both just set in the waiting room and cried while Rod took Reid back to see the Dr. Reid was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Yes, Rod and I were outside watching it all go down. If you look real closely across the top of Reid's nose, you can see the horrible bruise. We really expeted the bruise to be worse than it is. We also expected a couple of black eyes.

Cute Reid

I couldn't help but to post this picture of Reid eating a Donut. It's just too cute.

My 3 Snowmen

Our weather men are so full of it! They predicted that we would get at least 3 inches of snow on our side of town. Of course we only got a trace of it in our yard. The boys were itching to get out and play in it. They spent a short time out there licking the snow and making snowballs. We were a little disappointed that we didn't have enough snow to make a snowman. Now..on to green grass and sunshine. Come on Spring!

Skateboarders

Give me a break...literally!! Why do my boys think that they can skateboard? They're 4 and not quite 2. They are such daredevils. I might as well have a mobile ER in front of my house.

Scary Reid

Reid has been getting the biggest kick out of wearing Noah's Star War's helmet around the house and trying to scare us. It is so cute to watch him. The helmet is as big as he is!

Happy Valentine's Day

The boys both wore red shirts to school the Wed. before Valentine's Day. It's hard to see in the picture, but Reid had a Snoopy shirt that says "Call me" at the bottom. He was the adorable pimp daddy of the class! ;) Noah's shirt was just a "cool" red shirt..his was one of the fun shirts from Old Navy that said "give me snacks and nobody gets hurt". When he put it on over a gray thermal for school that day..I said "oh Noah, Mrs. Paque will love your shirt. She will think it's so funny". He got upset when I said that and he said, "I don't want her to think it's cool. I'm just going to wear my jacket all day long." Sooo..I take him to school and I hear Mrs. Paque ask him if he wanted to take his jacket off. He said "no" of course. I didn't really think anything of it. When I went to pick him up, I noticed him playing on the playground with just his gray thermal on. Where was the red shirt that was soooo "cool"?? He had snuck over to the corner when Mrs. Paque wasn't looking and took it off and then put it in his bag, so that she couldn't see it and think it was a "cool" shirt. What a turkey!! To this day..that shirt has remained on the hanger in the closet. I guess I need to give it away..I know he will never wear it again. ;)

Mom's 51st

We celebrated my mom's 51st birthday at our house this year. We all had a great time together. Here's a darling picture of Nana and her 4 sweet grandsons..and there's one more grandson on the way. She always said she wanted enough boys to form a basketball team....her wish will come true! We all love her very much. She is a great nana to little boys. They all adore her.

Fireworks in January

Rod found some fireworks left over from last July in the garage as he was cleaning it out. Against my better judgement, he let Noah and Mattie (our friend down the street) pull them out one evening to do them. I was a nervous wreck. The wind was blowing like crazy and as usual there was a burn ban. I just knew we were going to catch some dry grass on fire or something. The kids thought it was great though..of course they had a blast. We managed to not set any fires!

Tillery Christmas

Yes, another family Christmas! We didn't have Christmas with the Tillery side of the family until January 2nd. I wouldn't feel right about not posting a few pics of my precious grandparents and the boys. We had a great time and the boys had a great time playing with cousins that they don't get to see very often. The weather was beautiful that day, so they got to spend a lot of time outside playing. I'm posting a picture of my great-uncle who always plays Santa Claus. He loves to do it and the kids get a big kick out of having the special guest in the house.

Back to Blogging ;)

Many of you have been on my case for not doing my blogging. I've been reminded on several occasions that my last post was in December! I know I'm way.....behind. I have a little time to myself tonight, so I thought I might try to catch up on the blogging. The posts may be a little out of order, but you will at least be able to get caught up on the latest Smith Family Drama. Well..nevermind the "drama"..things have actually been pretty boring around here! You can at least get caught up on how quickly the boys are growing and changing.
