Noah Vs. THE MACHINE

Noah had his first Machine Pitch league game last night at PCO.  He did awesome!!  He was first at bat and hit a homerun off the first pitch! He is playing with a temporary team this fall called The Athletics.  The coach is so nice and encouraging to the kids as they are all new to machine pitch and need LOTS of encouragement ;).  He gives out a game ball at the end of each game and Noah was the proud big winner of the game ball last night.  This will defiintely be going in a shadow box!

Fast Shoes

Some of our sweet friends had a big birthday bash for their 3 year old.  They hired a band called At Long Last..they were awesome!  The band is made up of 4 or 5 Deer Creek High school students.  They really did a great job covering some modern day songs and even sang a few that they have written . I think everyone was quite impressed.  The boys had fun hanging with some old friends and making new buddies.  Reid was re-united with the birthday boy's big brother, Caleb.  He of course told me his name was "faster shoes"...Reid is convinced that that is Caleb's name and so he won't stop referring to him as "fast shoes"!  I love it.  At one point during the party, he said "mom, I can't find faster shoes!" and then later came up and said "mom, I found him, but faster won't come with me!".  Too darn cute!  He also receieved some star sunglasses as a party favor and crashed in them on the way home from the party.  GOOD GOOD TIMES

It's School Time

Oh my goodness....is it really time for Noah to be in Kindergarten?  It just doesn't seem right that he is old enough to go to the "big school" up the street.  The reality is...he is a big boy!  He was so excited to go to school on the first day. He had a great day and made some new buddies.  He had a little bit of a transition a week into school when he had to change teachers.  The school hired a new Kindergarten teacher which is a real blessing!  The class size is now down to 17 kids per class.  He is enjoying his new teacher Mrs. Weissman.  I think it's going to be a great year.  Rod has been able to take Noah to school a few mornings on the bike..Noah looooves this! Isn't Noah's teacher so cute?  Her name is Mrs. Wiessman.  She's a brand new Kindergarten teacher. We think she's going to be great ;)

Date Night

So, since Rod and Noah had their special day fishing, I decided to take Noah on a special night before he started school.  We went to Red Lobster.  (aka the Red Crab to Noah)  We had a nice visit about going to school.  I said there was just one favor that mommy has of him going to school.  I said "Now, just promise mommy that if you ever get your feelings hurt at school by your teacher or a friend or if you're ever just sad about something.  I hope that you will tell mommy about it.  Will you do that for me?"  He said, "yes, mom I will, but My teacher will NOT hurt my feelings.  You said she's really nice.". Oh how  hope that's always true!  I hope that's the case, but we all know that sometimes hurt feelings just happen ;(  Instead of a fancy plaque, I gave him a big boy bible "like dads"..;)  He was really excited about having his very own big boy bible.  We had such a sweet time on our date night.  I can't wait to do it again.

Becoming a Man of God

Rod has decided to start commemorating the boys on their journey of becoming a man of God.  He had a plaque made for Noah that said "To commemorate beginning the journey on becoming a man of God.  Rejecting passivity.  Accepting respnsibility. Leading courageously. Psalm 119:9.  Since Noah was getting ready to start Kindergarten, Rod thought this would be a good time for his first "big boy" ceremony.  He woke him up early on a Saturday morning and took him to a pond to go fishing.  He then presented him with his plaque.  I think it's so awesome and I'm so thankful that the Lord blessed me with a husband that wants nothing more than for his boys to "love the Lord and His word".  I am so proud of Noah for becoming a man of God and I'm proud of Rod for encouraging him in his journey.

Rangers vs. Yankees

We took the boys on a little end of the summer trip to Dallas to see a Rangers/Yankees game.  We met up with some friends, the Crabtrees for dinner at one of our favorite Mexican food places, MiCocina.  The Cratrees were on a little trip to Dallas as well.  We enjoyed having dinner with them! They were staying at a hotel across the street from us in Frisco, so the boys were able to have a late night swim the Campbell and Davis. That was fun for them!  We also did some back to school shopping...which the boy HATED!  I didn't quite ge tto make into as many stores as I would have liked to.  Once again, I was reminded that I'm outnumbered in my little family.  No one is very interested in shopping....just dear ol' mom enjoys it!  Gotta get away with my girlfriends if I want to truely SHOP!  The highlight of our trip was the Rangers/Yankees game.  Reid was cheering for the Yankees...Noah for the Rangers!  It was pretty cute...every time D. Jeter or A-Rod would get up to bat the crowd would "BOO"...but, Reid (while proudly wearing his Jeter shirt) would throw his arms up in the air and cheer "Go Jeter, Go A-Rod or Go Yankees".  At one point of the game, D. Jeter got out at first base.  Noah says "Haha Reid Yankees go out". Reid says "No they didn't" and punches Noah right in the nose.  THEIR FIRST TRUE FIST FIGHT!!  No kidding...Noah is always picking at Reid and Reid rarely fights back.  He had enough of Noah knocking his team...he decked him a good one!  Noah was shocked and devastated when Rod and I laughed about it.  We laughed because it was just "one of those moments" that we'll never forget.  Pretty monumental too...our boys first fist fight at a Major League Baseball game...boys will be boys and I love it!  Noah and I are now big Josh Hamilton fans..Go Rangers. Of course, Noah loves the Cardinals and the Red Sox too.  He's open to cheering for several teams at this point...He can't commit! He's definitely drawn to the Red teams.  Reid is still devoted to the Yankees.
